Chapter 8-The Tears Of An Angel

Your POV

You sat on the beach line. Digging your toes into the soft sand as the lanterns of The Ports flickered in the distance. The gentle lap of waves crashing onto the shore. You laid your head back and looked into the stars and the moon high above your head.

"Oh Yao..." You thought.

What have you done?

Would he ever forgive you for your wish of freedom?

No matter what you told yourself you still missed him.

But Freedom was addictive. Like Coffee.

You felt a pang of sadness, you clutched your delicate brush tightly. Sadness welling up inside of you. You thought of mother, and father, and leaving Yao.

The death of their parents were worse enough...

You felt a tear streaming down your cheek.

You felt horrible.

Completely horrible.

Until...

"_______________?"

Arthurs POV

When I realized ________ was not in bed anymore I had woken up with a jerk. Wondering to myself where she could be.

So I got up and opened the back door to her little shore house prodding in the white sand.

I paused to listen to the ocean.

It was like an endless drumming rhythm.

Calling me towards it.

Or was it that or something else...

My eyes widened. I recognised that body in the sand.

"_______________?" I asked softly. Staring into her shining eyes.

They were filled with tears.

"What are you doing out so late?" I asked it great concern on my face. "And why are you  crying?" She pouted and wiped her face as fast as she could. But there were too many tears...and of course I noticed it!

"Crying? Ha! I'm not crying." She assured looking away from me. But I still saw her tears dripping into the sand. Splattering into it's calm whiteness.

"Love." I said softly. "You can't fool this Ol' Brit." I pressed my hand on my shoulder. She finally turned to face me. There were still tears. It saddened me.

"Poppet, please don't cry." I said soothingly trying to calm her. I wiped the tears from her face. "You don't look as beautiful when you cry like that."

Suddenly, I felt my face burning red.

Why did I say that?

She gave another choking sob and a small smile.

"Oh Arthur." She cried and thrust herself into my arms sobbing herself out.

"Please." I said more soothingly. "C'mon."

She only hugged me tighter. I felt her warmth and her softness.

She was so adorable, yet so strong.

Was I...was I....developing feelings for her?

No! I couldn't! I couldn't make her bear this curse with me.

After a few more sobs she calmed herself.

"I'm sorry Arthur." She apologized. "Your garments are probably all smothered with my stupid tears now."

I laughed. "That's alright dear." I laughed. Then...a question striked me.

"Love, how did you come to be at this port anyway?"

Oh shoot! Was I stupid! Why would I ask her that if it would only make her sadder. I saw her expression sadden again.

STUPID! STUPID! STUPID! I screamed inside.

"Love, are you alright?" I asked again.

"Yes." She replied solemnly. "It's alright Arthur." She smiled. "Or Britain whatever your name may be. I guess I'll just say I'm an orphan." She looked away. Her eyes in the distant blue ocean. "I lived with my brother all my life...I never tasted freedom before...and then. I just...ran away. Nothing else to that."

I looked towards the sea along with her.

That was horrible.

Without any parents alive for her?

"Who killed-" I almost said it whole but I stopped myself.

"Pirates." She said blankly. Then she realized what she had said. "I'm sorry Arthur. I didn't mean you...or anything like that." She looked at me with wide eyes.

"No it's alright." I said softly.

I should've known! I thought. My face whitening as a horrible thought struck me.

What if I accidently killed her? I gasped at the very thought.

"Arthur? Are YOU ok?" I snapped back. ________ was talking to me.

"Yes...just dandy, love."

"Oh ok." She replied silently digging her head into her arms sighing at the moon and the stars.

"So what's your story Sir Pirate Arthur?" ________ asked with a spark of curiousity.

"Oh mine is not a story worth to be told." I laughed amusingly.

"Oh c'mon it won't be boring or anything, I won't laugh I guarantee that." She replied.

"Well...my family's huge. I have one Mother. My Father died a while back. And I've loved the seas ever since." I said with a smirk.

She leaned into me for a moment.

"Well...the sea is a wonderful thing to love. Love itself is wonderful."

I blushed madly as she leaned into me. Her soft (h/c) hair and her smile so warm and peaceful. I trusted her with all my heart. And she trusted me to tell me her past. I had to say it.

"_______there's something about me you should know." She turned her head to me.

"Yes, Sir Kirkland." She teased.

I gave her a small smile.

"It's just....It's just...."

BOOM!

A fiery BANG! Was heard all across the shoreline.

"Bloody hell!" I cursed aloud. Then my eyes widened like mad.

"What was that?" ________ cried in shock.

But I knew.

"__________ get up now!" I cried. "Get up!" We thrusted ourselves up and sprinted for the cottage. We needed to leave.

Now.

"Arthur what the hell is wrong?" She cried frantically.

I put my finger to her lips to silence her.

"Their here." I said slowly. "They found me."
YES! YES! YES! YES!

I can't stop screaming in happiness!
